MP3Gain uses EBU R128 — the broadcast industry standard for loudness measurement — which matches how human ears actually perceive volume. Unlike simple peak normalization, it analyzes perceived loudness so every track sounds equally loud, not just equally tall on a waveform. What audio formats does MP3Gain support?
MP3Gain supports MP3, AAC, FLAC, WAV, ALAC, AIFF, and most common audio formats. All formats are available in both the free and premium tiers.
Will MP3Gain modify my original files?
No. By default, MP3Gain applies reversible gain adjustments without re-encoding your audio. Your original audio data remains intact. You can always undo or readjust the gain values later without any quality loss.
